Grand Designs: The Streets

If you saw last night’s episode of Grand Designs: The Streets, you might have spotted a 30 second segment of our recent project at Castle Hill School using the Blokbuild timber Structural shell system.

Using this innovative solution provided us with full timber insulated system that didn’t require any steels to span the 7m space, taken directly from our 3D model, the individual cassettes are broken into small blocks using computer algorithms and manufactured to micro tolerances using CNC technology in a controlled factory environment. In addition to using the well insulated and airtight structural shell, it was manufactured locally in Yorkshire and manually built on site with no noisy plant or cranes required in less than 14 days.
