Jubilee 2 Leisure Centre Newcastle Under lyme
This project was jointly funded by Newcastle under Lyme Borough Council and the local Primary Care Trust.
Jubilee 2 Leisure Centre is a comprehensive Health and Wellbeing Centre intended to contribute to an improvement in lifestyle for the community in Newcastle, including impacting on such issues as child obesity. The building aims to attract people from all sectors of the community to participate in active sport and incorporates a number of high profile and visually exciting features.
A colourful three storey climbing wall greets and entices users arriving at the building. The building features a 25m swimming pool, learner pool with Aquagym facilities, martial arts and dance studios, fitness centre, health suite and a dedicated children’s activity and fitness area. There are also facilities for PCT use, referral spaces etc and the building has been designed to link to further development in the future.
