Workpods, Doncaster Sheffield Airport
This development of 14 office ‘pods’ was carried out on behalf of Workpods Limited and is situated within the Doncaster Sheffield Airport site.
The BREEAM ‘very good’ offices were designed using a ‘fabric first’ approach, the intention being to keep running costs to a minimum. These design enhancements helped the development obtain ERDF funding.
The ‘workpods’ have been designed individually as small starter units that could be purchased for as much as a family home, hence making them affordable for small businesses.
In addition, by being constructed in blocks of two, three and four, there is also the opportunity to knock through and create larger offices. The design incorporates this requirement with knock out panels, careful design/placing of M&E equipment etc.
